Another One For Doft

We just caught the action on the flop showing {4-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} when Jean-Robert Bellande lead out from the small blind. Elie Doft was in the big blind and raised to 2,400 and the player to his left, Alexander Kuzmin, called. Bellande tossed in the extra chips as well giving us three-way turn action.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and only Kuzmin called Doft's 2,400 bet. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Doft fired out another 2,400. Kuzmin double checked his cards hoping they would change, but they didn't and he threw them into the muck without hesitation.

A nice pot for Doft without showdown, and he is now up to 73,000.

Doft The First To Hit Six Figures

Elie Doft is the first player to hit the 100,000 mark today.

Doft took down two sizable pots on the river, first holding {A-}{Q-}{J-}{6-} on a {Q-}{10-}{6-}{5-}{Q-} board. Shortly thereafter, with {A-}{J-}{10-}{6-}, Doft filled up again as the board ran out {J-}{10-}{2-}{7-}{10-}.

Ivey Wins One, But is Still Down

Phil Ivey was playing the $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout earlier today and during that time he was being blinded out in this event. Ivey busted out of the shootout and devotes all his attention to this one now. We're not sure for how long he'll be playing just one table since the $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha started around one hour ago.

Ivey just won a nice pot bringing his stack back up to right around 38,000. He and his opponent both invested three bets to see a {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and Ivey was in position on the button. His opponent check-called 1,200 and the turn was the {J-Clubs}. His opponent checked again and Ivey threw in 2,400. He got check-raised right away and followed with the quick call.

The river was the {10-Spades} and both players checked. Ivey's opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of aces, and mucked after he saw that the eight-time WSOP bracelet winner had {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} for two pair.

A Few More Chip Counts

Doft Busts Kuzmin

Picking up the action after the turn of a {J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} board, Alexander Kuzmin was all in with action still going on between chip leader Elie Doft and Jean-Robert Bellande.

Bellande checked to Doft who fired a bet, forcing a fold from Bellande. Doft tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for trip sixes, while Kuzmin showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for top pair. He needed a jack to survive, but the river brought the {4-Clubs}, ending his tournament.
