Cassidy Takes One From Doft

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Action got folded to Elie Doft, who was on the button, and he opted to raise. Both blinds, Joe Cassidy and Phil Ivey, made the call.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Cassidy lead out for 20,000. Both players called and the turn was the {2-Hearts}. Cassidy threw out 40,000 and after some thinking Ivey decided to lay it down. Doft put in a raise and Cassidy called.

On the river the {10-Hearts} hit and Cassidy lead out again after which Doft called. Cassidy showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a straight and Doft tossed his cards into the muck.

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

From the button it was Phil Ivey who raised it up and Gregory Jamison defended his big blind.

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Jamison check-raised, after which Ivey put in the call. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Ivey called Jamison's 40,000 chip bet.

On the river we saw the {7-Spades} and Jamison fired out another 40,000. Ivey called and mucked after he saw Jamison's {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Jamison had a set of deuces and a 23467 low as he won some much needed chips.

Up And Down For Ivey

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Just for a second Joe Cassidy took over the chip lead from Phil Ivey, but on the very next hand he won enough from Meng La to get back on top.

First Ivey raised under the gun and Cassidy defended his big blind. The calop came down {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Cassidy check-called. On the turn the {A-Spades} hit and Cassidy check-raised it to 80,000. Ivey folded his hand which brought him down to 900,000 and Cassidy up to a cool million.

The very next hand Scotty Nguyen raised under the gun and Meng La called from the cutoff as did Ivey from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} and Ivey lead out after which only La called.

On the turn, the {A-Diamonds}, and the river, the {8-Clubs}, La called bets as well after which Ivey turned over {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Ivey had flopped a flush for the high and a A3458 low in order to scoop this pot. Ivey's back on top but it's very close between him and Joe Cassidy.

Color Down

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

During the dinner break the yellow 1,000 chips were raced off, but the 13,000/25,000 level still had to be played. This level requires some yellow chips in order to post the correct blinds, and as we write this up there are some old 1,000 chips brought back into play.

After the next level these yellow chips will be taken out of play once more.
