One for Barbero

One opponent check-called a bet of 1,100 from Nacho Barbero on the {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop to see the {4-Diamonds} land on the turn. Both players checked and the river was the {6-Spades}. The first player bet 1,750 and Barbero called.

Barbero showed the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades} to win the hand as his opponent mucked. Barbero won the pot and moved to 21,800 in chips.

Farha in the Building; Busts Traniello

Sammy Farha has finally taken to an event at the 2012 World Series of Poker and he's stated off on the right foot.

With the flop of {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs} in the middle of the felt, Marco Traniello was all in holding the {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Farha held the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and gave Traniello a set of eights to keep him in front. The river was the {4-Clubs} and Farha made a club flush to eliminate Traniello from the tournament.

With that pot, Farha moved to 20,000 in chips.

Farha is widely considered as one of the best Omaha players in the world. His three WSOP gold bracelets all come from the game, with one in Pot-Limit Omaha and two in Omaha Hi-Low. Farha won his third bracelet in 2010 in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low Championship for $488,241. In 2006 he won his second bracelet and $398,560 in the $5,000 Omaha Hi-Low event and his first came in 1996 when he won the $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event for $145,000.

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

The tournament clock has just rolled over into Level 4 and this will be the last level before registration closes. Registration will be open through the next break, which will last 30 minutes following this level, and then close at the start of Level 5. Also at the end of this break, each player will automatically be awarded another 3,000 in tournament chips for each add-on lammer they have left.

The board reads that over 550 players have entered the event, but that's still more than 100 short of last year's 685-player field. We'll keep you posted on the numbers and will also release the prize pool plus payout information when it becomes available.

Set Over Set for Nguyen

On the {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, two players checked and a third player bet 350. Men "The Master" Nguyen raised to 1,200 and action folded back to the original bettor. He reraised all in for 1,650 and Nguyen called.

Nguyen: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Nguyen had flopped middle set, but was behind his opponent's top set. After the turn {7-Diamonds} and river {4-Spades} that paired the board, Nguyen's opponent made a full house and "The Master" was kicked back to 10,300 in chips.
