Lawson Approaching a Century

Both John Racener and Ted Lawson have their names etched into the core of World Series of Poker (WSOP) history. Racener, who has already had three cashes this year - including one final table, is a former Main Event runner-up and has over $6 million in WSOP cashes alone. Lawson is a WSOP bracelet holder who loves the game of Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO); in fact his bracelet, earned in 2004, came in a PLO event. Here are the two heroes haranguing each other.

Racener raised to 3,600, in first position, and Lawson made the call from position in the cutoff. The flop was {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {2-Spades} and Racener bet 4,700, Lawson increased the stakes to 24,260 and Racener called. Fourth street brought us the {7-Spades}, Racener checked, Lawson moved all-in for 22,000 and Racener folded.

Richey Nearly Triples and Busts Conley

Brett Richey was all in preflop with the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} versus Justin Conley with the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} and one other player with the {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The flop, turn and river ran out {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Richey won the pot with a full house. Conley was the shortest of the three stacks and was eliminated while Richey nearly tripled up.

Paez Busts Jorshari

Milad Jorshari raised to 3,400 from late position and Raul Paez called from the big blind to see the flop come down {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Both players checked and the dealer placed the {J-Spades} out on the turn. Paez checked and Jorshari bet 7,400. Paez made it 20,000 to go and then Jorshari went all in for 35,400. Paez called.

Paez: {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Jorshari: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}

The river was the {J-Clubs} and Paez's flush was better than Jorshari's to send him to the rail. Paez now has 240,000 in chips and has retaken the lead.

Barch Eliminates Bowker

Tex Barch has close to $3 million in World Series of Poker (WSOP) earnings that includes a 3rd place finish in the 2005 Main Event and a bracelet won in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event in 2010. He also has a Kyle Bowker scalp courtesy of the following hand.

We didn't see when the money went in, but we did see the hand of Barch, the board and the back of Bowker's head as he left the table.

Barch was holding {A-Spades} {7-Spades} {9-Clubs} {5-Hearts} for the nut flush on a board of {2-Spades} {8-Spades} {3-Spades} {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs}. He is now up to 117,000 and Bowker is out.
