Another Break

Level 26 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

This is normally the time the remaining players would break for dinner. But the two players have agreed to just a 20-minute break.

Rubie Doubles Up, Again

Brendon Rubie
Brendon Rubie

Timothy Adams opened for 60,000 and Brendon Rubie called. The flop came {2-Clubs} {10-Spades} {3-Diamonds}, Rubie checked, Adams bet 30,000 and Rubie called. The turn brought the {9-Spades}, Rubie checked, Adams bet 80,000 and Rubie check-raised to 190,000. Adams moved all in and Rubie called.

Rubie: {3-Hearts} {3-Spades}
Adams: {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

The meaningless river came the {7-Spades} and Rubie doubled up.

Small One For Rubie

Brendon Rubie called on the button and Timoty Adams checked his option.

The flop came down {K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Adams check-called 30,000 from Rubie. It was more of the same on the {5-Clubs} turn as Adams check-called 70,000 to see the {Q-Diamonds} river. Another check from Adams led to another bet from Rubie, this one for 230,000.

Adams folded and Rubie took the pot.

Rubie Flops Wheel...But Chops

Timothy Adams raised to 60,000 on the button and Brendon Rubie called from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Rubie checked. Adams bet 30,000, but Rubie put in a raise to 90,000. Adams called to see the {4-Diamonds} turn. Rubie bet 130,000, but was met with a raise to 265,000 from Adams. Rubie called, though, and moved all in when the {5-Spades} river fell. Adams took a few moments before he called.

Rubie: {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Adams: {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

Both players played the board with the wheel to chop the pot.

Rubie Doubles Up

Brendon Rubie
Brendon Rubie

Brendon Rubie broke the monotony of heads up play and open-shoved on the button. Timothy Adams called and the hands were tabled.

Adams: {A-Spades} {8-Hearts}
Rubie: {Q-Spades} {10-Hearts}

The board ran {3-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs} and Rubie doubled to stay alive.

Rubie Limping

Brendon Rubie called on the button and Timothy Adams checked his option.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Adams checked. Rubie bet 30,000, Adams folded, and Rubie won the pot.

So far, we've seen very few button raises from Rubie and plenty of button limps.

James Schaaf Eliminated in 3rd Place ($164,823)

James Schaaf - 3rd place
James Schaaf - 3rd place

Timothy Adams raised to 48,000 on the button and Brendon Rubie folded his small blind. James Schaaf defended from the big blind and a {Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop hit the board.

Schaaf check-called 57,000 from Adams to see the {Q-Clubs} turn. A check from both players landed the {Q-Spades} river which Schaaf bet 175,000 at. Adams took about 45 seconds before raising all in with the bigger stack.

Schaaf took a deep breath before calling for the rest of his stack, about 910,000.

Adams tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, besting Schaaf's {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, to win the pot and take a commanding lead into heads-up play.
