A Couple of Oh-Eight Hands

Level 9

Omaha 8

Here is how a couple of Omaha 8 hands played out during this first level.

  • Over on Table 450, Mori Eskandani opened up the action and only Todd Brunson in the big blind made the call. The {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop would see Brunson check and Eskandani fire out a bet. Brunson instantly folded his cards face-up, flashing {2-}{2-}{4-}, with his low cards not looking good on that flop.
  • Table 449 would see Betrand Grospellier open it up from the button and Stephen Su immediately three-bet on his left. Grospellier made the call and as the dealer spread out a {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} board, Grospellier called a bet on the flop, raised a bet on the turn - which was called, and then both players checked the river. Grospellier's {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades} was good for the nut-low, while Su's {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} was strong enough for the high.
