Akenhead Ahead Early

Christian Harder opened with a raise to 1,400 from under the gun only to find Paul Kemp three-bet the action to 3,300. James Akenhead had other thoughts, however, and moved a four-bet to 6,200 into the middle from the button. It folded back to Kemp who tossed out a call.

The flop was {7-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Kemp checked. Akenhead continued with a bet of 8,100 and Kemp quickly shot his hand into the muck, awarding the November Niner the pot.

A Chance To Increase Your Stack

We found Marco Hernandez and Chance Kornuth looking down at a board of {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. With over 33,000 in the pot, Hernandez bet 20,000 and Kornuth went into the tank.

After about a minute of pondering and talking aloud about the hand, Kornuth eventually dropped in the call.

"Gooooood call," Hernandez bellowed as Kornuth tabled {8-Spades}{6-Clubs} for a flopped two pair. Hernandez mucked his hand and the pot was pushed to Kornuth.

Bellande Back In It

After missing almost the entire first level, we found Jean-Robert Bellande looking down at a board of {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Marc-Andre Ladouceur checked to Bellande and after about twenty seconds, Bellande checked back.

The board completed with the {A-Spades} and Ladouceur carefully counted out 11,700 in chips and dropped them into the middle.

"How much is that?", inquired Bellande.

Upon finding out, Bellande quickly announced a call and showed {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for treys full of nines. Ladouceur threw his hand away and Bellande dragged a pot that brought him almost back to his original starting stack for the day.
