Katz Getting Back in There

2-7 Triple Draw

We missed most of the pre flop action, but from the looks of it Cary Katz was all in for his final 600 chips after a raise to 500 and a call from David Chiu. Katz was in the big blind and both his opponents called the 100 extra chips.

Katz and the initial raiser took two cards each, and Chiu only needed one.

The initial raiser bet 500, Chiu raised to 1,000 and his opponent called. Katz had picked up his cards from the table and Daniel Negreanu looked at them. By the looks of it Negreanu seemed happy for Katz who patted after which his opponents both took one card.

"I was kinda worried there for a second," Katz laughed right after Chiu took another card, since he had raised after the first draw. Katz felt a lot better now that Chiu didn't had a made hand yet.

Katz turned his cards over and Negreanu quickly grabbed them and pointed out there was going to be another draw. Katz seemed a little embarrassed, but in the end it didn't matter. Both his opponents took one more card and checked it down.

Katz turned over {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} and won the hand, the initial raiser had paired up and Chiu fell short with {J-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}.

On the very next hand Negreanu raised on the button and Katz three-bet from the small blind to 1,500. Negreanu called and both players took two cards.

"It's 500 right?" Katz asked the dealer who confirmed and Negreanu replied right away.

"It's 500 or check," the Canadian super star said, implying that checking was also an option. Katz ended up checking and Negreanu checked behind right away.

Both players took two cards again, "Shocker," Negreanu said smiling after which Katz flicked out 1,000. "I'm just gonna let you have it," he added and Katz seemed a bit disappointed.

"Just keep drawing!" he said with a smile while the dealer pushed the pot towards him. Katz is back up to 5,100 chips and still one of the short stacks in the room.
