Day 2 Started
Welcome back to the Rio for continued coverage of Event 38: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em here at the 2012 World Series of Poker.
Out of 2,502 players who started the day, a total of 277 players will return to the felt with a chance at making a run at the final table and the $607,200 first-place prize. Of the 277 returning players, 270 will go home with a min-cash, while seven will go home empty handed.
Of those players it is Layne Flack who is in the best shape to go all the way as he will be starting the day with a monster 229,700 in chips. The next closest player to Flack has only 156,900.
Some of the players who have plenty of chips to scare today include Dan Smith, Jim Collopy and Tommy Vedes. Lauren Kling is also in great shape as she amassed a very impressive 123,300 in chips.
We will be bursting the bubble very quickly today and then it will be all out action from there for the rest of the night. All the no-limit action is set to begin at 1:00 PM, so stay tuned as PokerNews will have all the live updates coming your way.

The players have scrambled into their seats and the cards are flying in the air. We are seven players off the money, and with plenty of short stacks, we will be on the bubble soon.
Just a couple of hands into the day and we have lost our first player. Roger Hudson only started the day with a few big blinds and needed plenty of help that he would never find.

A couple of quick eliminations has seen the dealers rise out of their chairs as hand-for-hand play is about to begin. We are on the bubble! There is $2,771 on the line here.
Hand for hand play lasted exactly one hand. Four players were eliminated in said hand meaning the bubble boy/girl was the person who finished in 272nd, and that person is long gone.
Three of the four players were Matias Nilsson, Kyle Burnside and Steven Silverman, with all four players splitting the last three paid spots between the three of them.
Silverman raised all-in over the top of Simeon Naydenov raise with . The Bulgarian called with and held through the board.
Another bubble player flopped top pair and committed all his chips. Unfortunately for him an opponent had flopped a set and busted him.

When we arrived at Table 439, Nicky Evans and the player to his direct left were involved in a hand with a flop showing . Evans was first to act and made it 3,600 to go. The player thought for quite some time before calling, which sent a onto the felt on the turn.
This time Evans led for 9,100 and again his opponent thought long and hard before calling. On the river, Evans slid out a stack of 26,000 in chips, which was enough to put his opponent all-in. The player then went into the tank for almost two minuted before letting his hand go to send the pot to Evans.
