Mortensen Shortensen

Carlos Mortensen
Carlos Mortensen

2001 WSOP Main Event champion Carlos Mortensen has been nursing a short stack for the last hour or so, thus making it difficult for him to build those elaborate chip structures which tend to dazzle the eye.

Just now he found himself all in before the flop against two different opponents following a series of preflop bets, then watched as one bet the other out following a {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts} flop.

Mortensen tabled {K-Spades}{10-Hearts} for top pair and his lone remaining opponent {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, and following the {9-Clubs} turn and {5-Hearts} he'd survived to try to rebuild anew.
