Maria Ho Eliminates Bill Chen

Moments after Bill Chen doubled through Maria Ho, the two poker pros went to battle again. This time, though, Chen finished second best.

Ho opened with two bets from the button and Chen three-bet from his big blind with only a couple big bets behind. Ho called and saw a flop of {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Chen bet, Ho raised, and Chen pushed all of his chips in. Ho called, and she was out in front.

Ho: {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Chen: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Turn: {10-Clubs}

"Oh!" Chen popped up in his seat as he made a full house.

River: {K-Hearts}

Ho rivered a bigger boat, and Chen made his way over to friend Terrence Chan to re-count his bustout.

Kassin Doubling & Mizzi Motoring

Charles Kassin has just flopped a set to stave off elimination as it threatened to eat him up. He was all-in against Andrew Le and was so behind Le was lapping him.

Kassin{3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}
Le{Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: {3-Spades} {8-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

Kassin moves up to 11,000 and Le now has 48,000.

In other news Sorel Mizzi has just finished his lunch and has gotten straight back into business. He currently has 48,600 after winning the following hand we caught on the flop.

The flop was {A-Clubs} {7-Spades} {4-Clubs}, Charles Indyg checked out of the small blind, Sorel Mizzi checked out of the big blind, Jon Turner bet in position and both players called. The turn card was the {5-Hearts} and this time Mizzi check-raised, Turner folded and Indyg called. The river card was the {K-Hearts} and Indyg check-folded to a final Mizzi bet.

Akkari Sliding

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Andre Akkari
Andre Akkari

Andre Akkari began today with one of the bigger stacks in the room, but the first couple of hours haven't been so great to the Brazilian. Just now came another hand kind of typifying his day thus far.

The UTG player raised, Akkari three-bet from the cutoff, and the original raiser called. The flop came all hearts — {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{K-Hearts} — and when it checked to Akkari he bet, getting a call. Both players then checked the {7-Hearts} turn and {6-Diamonds} river.

Akkari's opponent tabled {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a turned straight, and Akkari showed his {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a set of nines. Akkari slips to about 15,000 on that one.

Badecker Busts

World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, Andrew Badecker, has been eliminated in Level 10. He had around 2,500 in front of him and they went into the middle in a three way pot against Event #25: $1,500 Limit-Hold'em Shootout winner Brian Meinders and Frank Major. Major eventually won the pot holding {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, but by that time Badecker was well gone. The dealer flipped his hand over as per the rules and it was {9-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}, the board was {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {7-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}.

Jeff Thompson Binks The River on Dan Shak

Dan Shak has just dropped to 31,500 after losing a flip to the short stack Jeff Thompson. The pair got it in pre flop with Thompson at risk of elimination. Here was the showdown:

Thompson{2-Clubs} {2-Spades}
Shak{A-Diamonds} {J-Spades}

So Thompson needed to fade some paint, and he didn't get off to a very good start when the flop showed him {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {8-Spades}. The turn {9-Hearts} was no help, but Thompson knew it was coming because he hadn't moved a muscle.

River: {2-Diamonds}

"Bink," said Thompson before dragging in his lifeline pot.
