An Orbit With Layne Flack

Hand one

A player in early position opened to 5,200 and Layne Flack called from the big blind.

Both players checked the {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{A-Clubs} flop. A {8-Clubs} fell on the turn and Flack check-called a bet from his opponent. Both players again checked on the {9-Diamonds} river and Flack revealed {8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, which was good enough to scoop the pot.

Hand two

Another player raised in early position and Flack folded from the small blind.

Hand three

Action folded around to Flack on the button and he raised to 4,500. His opponent in the small blind three-bet to 21,000 and Flack gave his hand up and mucked.

Hand four

Action folded around to Flack, who folded from the cutoff.

Hand five

A player raised to 4,500 in early position and action folded around to Flack, who again folded from the hijack.

Hand six

It was again folded to Flack, who folded himself.

Hand seven

Flack had got up from his seat at the end of hand six and was absent for this one.

Hand eight

Flack opened to 4,700 from early position and was called directly behind by Jarred Solomon and Elio Fox in the big blind.

All three players checked the {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. However, Fox fired 9,000 into the middle on the {8-Diamonds} turn and Flack got out of the way. Solomon came along to see a river, which brought the {10-Hearts}. Fox fired a hefty 23,000 and Solomon called. Fox revealed {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a rivered set and Solomon mucked without showing.

Flack is sitting on 50,000 following the hand.

Staszko Out

Martin Staszko had been sitting on a short stack for most of the day, but we recently noticed his seat was empty with no chips in front of it. The 2011 Main Event Runner Up has been eliminated.

Shak Ships His Stack

Dan Shak opened to 5,500 from early position and found one caller in Carlos Sanchez-Vegas.

Both players checked the {6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop, however, Sanchez-Vegas would lead out when the {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Shak responded by immediately announcing he was all in for about 50,000 total. Sanchez-Vegas thought it over and landed on a fold.

Shak is up to 73,000.

Shorr With a Lot More...Chips

Shannon Shorr has chipped up very nicely this level and is currently sitting on 140,000, which is almost triple what he had earlier today.

In a recent hand, Khalid Zoudo opened to 4,500 from the hijack and was three-bet to 11,000 by Shannon Shorr on the button. Zoudo made the call to see a flop, which came {Q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{J-Hearts}.

Zoudo riffled his chips several times and opted to check. Shorr didn't take long to fire a modest 7,000 into the pot. It was enough, however, as Zoudo released his hand - conceding the pot to Shorr.

Kelly On a Roll

JP Kelly came into Day 2 with just over 35,000 chips, but has run them up quite nicely since the day began.

In a recent hand, Matthew Schwarmann opened to 3,500 from the button and JP Kelly eyed his stack from the button and raised enough to put Schwarmann all in. Schwarmann gave his hand up without a fight and Kelly scooped the pot.

Kelly is up to 135,000 following the hand.

Giannetti Folds to Racener's Pressure

We caught up with the action on a {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} board. Matthew Giannetti had a 12,000 bet in front of him and his lone opponent, John Racener, appeared to have moved all in for his last 35,000 from the hijack position.

Giannetti fell hard into the tank, but eventually slid his hand into the muck. Racener scooped the sizable pot and is now sitting on 81,000.
