Lisandro Looking for Sixth Career Bracelet

Level 18
Chip leader, Jeff Lisandro
Chip leader, Jeff Lisandro

Day 2 of Event 42: $2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better began with 175 of the original 393 entrants. Only 40 of them would make the money, and after ten hours of play, 22 remain.

Jeffrey Lisandro is the leader with 355,000 chips, and following him in the counts are Perry Friedman (263,000), Norman Chad (224,500), George Danzer (219,500), and Yuval Bronshtein (212,500).

Lisandro shot up the charts towards the end of the night, and won a massive pot during the last level of play. He scooped a Stud hand against Allen Bari and Daniel Harmetz, where Lisandro made a flush on seventh. He also made a seventy-six low, forcing Harmetz to muck despite his board reading {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

“I don’t see bad hands!” Lisandro shouted at one point.

Lisandro is searching for his sixth career bracelet, and his fifth in a stud game.

There were a handful of notables who were unable to reach the money, including Alan Boston, Barry Greenstein, Vladimir Shchmelev, Julie Schneider, Amnon Filippi, Jim Geary, Daniel Negreanu, and the eventual bubble boy Christopher Gentile.

Play will resume at 2 p.m. local time tomorrow, and the plan is to play until there’s a winner. We’ll see you then, good night from Las Vegas!
