38th: Tarek Makki . . . $5,704

Kornuth Drawn and Quartered

Action folded to Stephen Hesse on the button and he raised to 12,000. Adam Kornuth was in the big blind and potted to 39,000, prompting Hesse to four-bet. Kornuth only had around 15,000 behind and called off.

Showdown
Hesse: {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Kornuth: {10-Spades}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and at first Kornuth thought they chopped. The table quickly pointed out that Hesse held a flush and the same low, meaning he would received three-quarters of the pot. Nonetheless, Kornuth still seemed happy he survived the hand.

Sharma Shaves Field Further

While Tarek Makki was being eliminated on one table, Sonu Sharma just scored a double-knockout of both Marc Durand and Nicholas Verkaik on the same hand at another, and the field has quickly been reduced to 35 players.

Heimiller Gets In Herm's Way

Dan Heimiller opened for 13,000 from the cutoff, then Mark Herm raised to 46,000 from the big blind, leaving himself but 11,000 behind. The rest went in following the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop.

"You got a pair?" asked Heimiller as he called. "I do," he said before Herm could answer, turning over {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a pair of tens. Herm did, as he showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} for nines. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and river the {3-Diamonds}, and Heimiller's hand remained best, knocking Herm out in 39th.

Duran Durand

We caught the action on the {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs} when Octaviano Duran managed to get his stack all in and was up against Marc Durand.

Showdown
Duran: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Durand: {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The {A-Clubs} turn and {5-Clubs} river were kind to Duran as he took down the high with aces and eights and locked up the low with a live three. It was good for a scoop as Durand was left with just 18,000.

Livingston Eliminates York

Colin York was just all in for 55,000 or so before the flop with {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} against Matt Livingston's {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The board came {5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{A-Hearts}, giving Livingston aces full of fives and sending York to the rail.
