Wheeler Defies the Odds to Double on the River

We're not sure of the betting action, but we do know a big pot developed just before the level up with Jason Wheeler getting all in for 58,000 preflop, Erik Aude calling him, and another player folding {A-}{K-}.

Showdown
Aude: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Wheeler: {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The player who folded big slick was understandably upset as he folded the best hand, but as it was Aude's hand was out in front; in fact, the PokerNews Odds Calculator tells us that Aude was a 58.42% favorite to win the hand against Wheeler, who stood a 41.14% chance of surviving.

The {10-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop was kind to Aude as it gave him top pair and made him a 83.64% favorite. With that said, Wheeler did have a 16.36% chance of winning, with a queen his best option as it'd make him a straight. The {2-Spades} turn increased Aude to a 93.18% favorite, meaning Wheeler had just a 6.82% chance to survive.

While a victory by Aude was seemed guaranteed, the {Q-Diamonds} spiked on the river to allow Wheeler to defy the odds and double to 130,000.
