Moments after being crippled down to around 1,000 in chips, Scott Seiver open-shoved from the button with . The small blind called with , and it was off to the races.
The dealer rolled out a board and Seiver's pair of jacks was second best.
We're starting to develop some conspiracy theories over at the media desk concerning Table 19. Some players have busted and new ones have taken their seat.
Phil Ivey has just raked in another small pot and it played out like this. The under the gun player limped and it was around to Ivey in the hijack and he also limped. The small blind folded and the big blind tapped the table as we made out way to a flop. All three players checked the flop and the hit the turn. The big blind checked here and the under the gun bet 1,000. Ivey called, while the other player folded.
On the river, Ivey's opponent checked and then folded to Ivey's bet of 3,000 as Ivey took down the pot and added some chips to his stack.
Scott Nguyen opened the action to 900 from early position. The player in the cutoff made the call and with the blinds out of the way, the dealer readied three cards.
Flop:
On the flop, Neguyen checked and then called a bet of 1,000 from his opponent. Both players then checked the turn and it was on to the river. Nguyen again check-called a bet, this time of 1,400.
"Alright baby, let's see if i lose with king-king again," said Nguyen as he tabled . His opponent turned over , with the rivered set enough to give him the win.
After the player in the hijack raised to 525, James Akenhead three-bet to around 1,400 from the cutoff. Brock Parker then four-bet shoved from the button for 6,375. The original raiser folded, but Akenhead felt he was priced in to call.
Parker:
Akenhead:
The board ran out and Parker faded disaster to double up to around 13,600. Akenhead was chopped down to 16,000.
Jason DeWitt, the 2010 champion of this event, is also seated at this table. He's working with 6,500 right now.
Just recently we let everyone know that Viktor Blom had taken his seat in the tournament. Well, he isn't here any more and we were there to catch all the action. It started when an early position player opened the pot to 600. The player directly on his left made the call and it was around to Blom in the small blind. He called and when the big blind got out of the way, a would be dealt on the felt.
All three players checked the flop and a landed on the turn. This time when Blom checked, the original aggressor bet 1,100. The other other player called and Blom shoved all in for around 5,000 in chips. The aggressor snap-called, while the other player got out of the way.
"Do you have trips?" said Blom as he tabled . His opponent did have trips, turning over .
Unfortunately the river wasn't the card Blom needed and he was sent to the rail.
After scouring the tournament floor we finally found PokerStars Team Pro Viktor Blom. He's seated with Sam Trickett and fellow PokerStars Team Pro Victor Ramdin at a late reg table.
Blom has his chips in an uncountable mixed stack, but we're eyeballing it's around 5,000.
We recently watched David Williams lose a small pot that went down like this. The player in the hijack opened it up to 400. Williams then three-bet to 1,500. The blinds were out of the way and the hijack called.
On the flop, William's opponent checked and Williams bet 1,800. His opponent then check-raised to 3,100. Williams called and the both players checked the turn. The on the river would see William's opponent quickly announce an all in. Williams folded just as quickly and sent the pot to his opponent.
Despite losing this pot, Williams has still managed to have a gret start to the day, having well over two times the starting stack.
