Aude Extracts Value From Vedes

Dan Smith opened to 55,000 from the cutoff seat and was called by Tommy Vedes on the button and Panayote Vilandos in the small blind. Erik Aude then three-bet to 155,000 from the big blind. Smith folded, Vedes called and Vilandos folded for a heads-up pot.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Both players checked again on the {3-Clubs} turn, however, when the {A-Hearts} completed the board, Aude led out for 150,000. Vedes tank called and Aude flipped over {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for two pair. Vedes mucked and slipped to 303,000, while Aude is up to 1,520,000.

Daniel Perper Eliminated in 13th Place ($43,095)

Daniel Perper - 13th place
Daniel Perper - 13th place

It was folded around to Daniel Perper, who pushed all in for his last 318,000 from the hijack position. Action folded over to Andrea Dato in the big blind and he snap-called to put Perper at risk.

Perper: {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Dato: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

Perper was dominated and would need help to survive, however, the {7-Spades}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} board kept Dato in the lead and Perper was eliminated.

Dato is up to 700,000.

Konstantin Puchkov Eliminated in 14th Place ($43,095)

Konstantin Puchkov

Thomas Conway raised to 52,000 under the gun and was immediately met with an all-in three-bet to 490,000 by Konstantin Puchkov. Action folded to Panayote Vilandos on the button, and he opted to move all in over the top. The blinds both got out of the way, as did Conway, and the cards were turned up:

Showdown
Puchkov: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Vilandos: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

Puchkov had picked up a big hand, but he ran it straight into the best hand in poker. The Russian would received no miracle as the board ran out {4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{2-Spades}, and Puchkov exited in 14th place.

Puchkov, who won the Event #31 $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event at the 2010 WSOP for $256,820, has now notched a record-tying tenth cash in a single year. Coincidentally, Puchkov shares that record with another Russian, the late Nikolay Evdakov, who had ten cashes in 2008.

Conway Gets Some Back

Thomas Conway raised to 52,000 from the cutoff and received calls from Konstantin Puchkov and Tommy Vedes on the button and big blind respectively. When the flop fell {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, Vedes checked, Conway bet 80,000, and Puchkov got out of the way.

Vedes opted to make the call and then both players checked down the {Q-Spades} turn and {4-Hearts} river. Conway then showed {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, which was good as Vedes mucked.

Giannetti Moves All In

Action has been fairly slow since returning from the last break. In a recent hand, action folded to Matt Giannetti on the button and he raised to 52,000. Thomas Conway was in the big blind and opted for a three-bet to 120,000, but Giannetti made him regret it when he moved all in and took down the pot.
