Welcome to PokerNews' coverage of Day 2 of the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop. A field of 48 players is down to just 37 and play today will commence until we reach a final table of nine players, each of whom will be guaranteed $1,109,333. However, this group of elite players and personalities have their eyes set on the World Series of Poker bracelet and the first-place prize of $18,346,673.
After nine levels on Day 1, Brian Rast emerged with the chip lead. He bagged up a stack of 10,710,000 and following him is Phil Hellmuth with 8,395,000. The 11 players who busted yesterday were Justin Smith, Andrew Robl, Jens Kyllönen, Jonathan Duhamel, Paul Phua, Erik Seidel, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Nick Schulman, Eugene Katchalov, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and Giovanni Guarascio.

John Morgan was under the gun on the first hand of play, and he opted to raise to 105,000. The action was folded around to Frederic Banjout who made the call from the big blind. One of the tournament short stacks, Chamath Palihapitiya, was in the big blind and he moved all in for a total of 630,000.
A high pressure situation developed right at the start of the day, and after some tanking Morgan made the call. Banjout contemplated making a move as well, but after a good ten seconds he kicked his cards into the pot.
"Wow what a start!" Morgan said as the cards were flipped up.

The flop came down and Morgan said, "Look at that," as he was hoping for his hand to hold up.
The turn was the , and the river the ending Palihapitiya's tournament in 37th place.
"Good game buddy," Morgan said to Palihapitiya who shook his opponents hands before leaving the tournament area.

Guy Laliberté raised to 115,000 from under the gun and Phil Galfond reraised all in for 440,000 from the next seat. Tom Dwan made the call in the hijack seat and action folded back to Laliberté. He also called and Galfond had a chance to triple up.
The flop came down with Laliberté and Dwan still active. They both checked. The turn was the and they both checked again. The river was the and both checked again.

Tom Dwan raised it up from early position to 130,000 and Mikhail Smirnov called from the cutoff. Guy Laliberté was in the big blind and he put in the extra chips as well.
The flop came down , and Laliberté lead out for 255,000. Dwan made the call, after which Smirov folded his cards. Heads up we went to the turn.
The turn was the , and Laliberté fired out 405,000. Dwan called once more.
On the river the popped up and Laliberté threw out another 610,000 chips. At this point Dwan went into the tank and starting whistling and said he was not raising. After a while he opted to lay his hand down and Laliberté mucked his cards.
"I would've paid to see that one, but I only have $25,000 chips in my pocket," Dwan said after Laliberté started stacking his chips.
"Well, any donation helps," Laliberté said to Dwan who was left with 3.61 million chips.

Bill Perkins was all in preflop for 795,000 with the against the for Tom Dwan.
"At least if I lose, I can tell a bad beat story," Perkins said with a smile.
The dealer ran out the flop and Perkins noticed Dwan had a diamond in his hand. "Holy sh*t, he has diamonds!" he yelled.
The turn was the and river the , both missing Dwan and giving Perkins the double up.
Perkins jumped out of his chair, hands high in the air and started singing at the top of his lungs. He went over and celebrated with his rail before coming back to his seat to collect the pot. "Perky is alive! Perky is alive!" he chanted when he sat back down.

Noah Schwartz raised it up from the hijack to 125,000, and Richard Yong three-bet to 300,000 from the cutoff. Schwartz called.
