Su Wins Massive Pot to Eliminate Both Gualtieri & Bach

We just saw a massive pot develop preflop between Stephen Su and David Bach, with a short-stacked Joe Gualtieri caught in between. The preflop action escaped us, but we do know that Bach got his stack of around 70,000 all in and was snap-called by Su.

The {Q-Spades} {2-Spades} {8-Spades} flop kept Su in the lead with his pair of aces, but both his opponents held low draws. The {8-Hearts} turn was kind to Su as it kept him in the lead and paired the board, but it'd be the {9-Hearts} on the river that would avoid a low and allow him to scoop the approximately 160,000 pot. Both Gualitieri and Bach seemed a little stunned as they exited the tournament floor while Su was understandably all smiles.

Campbell Silences the Mouth

We noticed things were a little quieter here in the Tan Section of the Amazon Room, which prompted us to do a quick look for Mike "The Mouth" Matusow. Unfortunately we discovered that he had been eliminated. We checked in with Mark Gregorich, who was seated at Matusow's former table, and he was kind enough to fill us in on some of the details.

According to him, Matusow was extremely short stacked and committed with {A-} {K-} {10-} {2-} and was called by the {3-} {6-} {K-} {8-} of Robert Campbell in the big blind.

The {Q-} {J-} {5-} flop gave Matusow a ton of outs, but the {6-} turn gave Campell the lead with a pair of sixes. Much to Matusow's angst, the river paired and Campbell's sixes held to eliminate "The Mouth."
