Galfond Draws a Ten

Jason Mercier opened with a raise to 2,000 and it folded to Phil Galfond's big blind. Galfond flung out a call and both players drew one card.

Galfond check-called a 3,400 bet from Mercier after the draw.

"Jack," said Mercier.

When Galfond announced that he had a ten, Mercier flung his hand to the muck and Galfond's {10-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} was able to take the pot.

Another Early Exit

We missed the details but can report that Jennifer Harman has been eliminated. She came into play today as one of the shorter stacks and could not get anything going.

Bonomo Busts Fischman Early

Action folded around to Justin Bonomo who popped it up to 2,800. Scott Fischman replied by moving all in for 20,800 total and Bonomo called.

Both players drew one card and Bonomo tabled {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}. Without even any sweat Bonomo tabled his drawn card and it was a {7-}, completing his eight-low.

Fischman showed {8-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and had outs for the win, but unfortunately was eliminated when he pulled a {2-} giving him a pair.

Puchkov Looking for Number 11 and/or 12

Konstantin Puchkov looking for cash number eleven
Konstantin Puchkov looking for cash number eleven

Konstantin Puchkov enters Day 2 of Event 60: $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball with the chip lead, and he's also still alive over in Event 59: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em. If he cashes in just one of the two events, he'll set the record for most cashes in a single World Series of Poker with eleven. If he cashes in both, then he'll obviously hold the record with twelve. We'll certainly keep an eye on Puchkov in this event - he's deepest run is a sixth-place finish in Event 37: $2,500 Eight-Game Mix.

There are a ton of notables returning, including Rep Porter, Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, George Danzer, and Ville Wahlbeck.

The cards will be in the air shortly, and the plan is to play until a final table.
