Two Good Hands for Thomas; Ayani Out

We came on preflop raising war in progress between Wilfried Haerig and Russell Thomas in which it appeared Haerig had started things with a late position raise, Thomas had reraised from the blinds, Haerig had pumped it up again, and eventually Haerig was reraising once more to 410,000 total. Thomas thought a moment, declared he was all in for well over a million, and Haerig instantly folded.

Thomas flipped over one card before dragging the pot — the {3-Diamonds}! — provoking a reaction from the table.

On the very next hand, Raphael Ayani open-pushed his short stack from middle position, and when it folded to Thomas on the button he called. Ayani had {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}, while this time Thomas had picked up a hand he was representing on the previous one — {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, and Ayani hit the rail.
