Eastgate Gets Some Much Needed Chips

We arrived at the table to see that Peter Eastgate and Blair Rodman were involved in a three way pot. There was about 8,000 in the middle when we got there, and the dealer had just fanned out a flop of {6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Eastgate checked to Rodman, who fired out 4,500. Both Eastgate and their other opponent made the call, and the turn brought the {10-Hearts}. All three players checked, and the same occurred when the {7-Spades} hit the river.

Eastgate opened up {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for top pair, and that caused his two opponents to muck their cards. After collecting that pot, Eastgate is back up to 50,000.

Jaka's Roller Coaster Continues

The roller coaster that is Fara Jaka has continued into the night, with the recent PCA Main Event third-place finisher seeing his stack reach lows of around the starting stack, to the high of almost 200,000. Right now, it is somewhere in the middle of that spectrum.

We recently caught a hand that began when the action was folded to Jaka on the button. He raised it up to 2,400 and the the big player made the call. When the dealer flipped over a {10-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, Jaka's oppenent checked and Jaka bet 3,800. A call would see a {j-Clubs} turn hit the felt and both players check. It was then on to the {2-Clubs} river, with Jaka's opponent again checking. This time Jaka bet 20,000 and with a fold from his opponent, Jaka raked in the nice little pot.

More From Basebaldy

Eric Baldwin
Eric Baldwin

The flop read {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and Eric Baldwin was heads up in middle position against an unknown opponent in the small blind. The small blind was first to act and he patted the felt for a check. Baldwin on the other hand bet, and made it 3,400. The small blind then raised and made it 7,500. Baldwin sat completely still and thought for a good 30 seconds before making the call.

The {k-Hearts} on the turn saw the little blind tank for a little bit then check. Action then moved to the again motionless Baldwin and after another 30 seconds or so he grabbed a handful of chips and neatly placed a bet of 11,000. A minute or two went by of the small blind thinking before he eventually threw his cards away.

Eastgate Times Two

Peter Eastgate doubles again
Peter Eastgate doubles again

Just before break, Peter Eastgate and an opponent were heads up with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} Eastgate's opponent led for 4,300, Eastgate raised to 11,100, and the player called.

The turn was the {j-Spades}, and the player led out again. Eastgate moved all in for 35,000, and his opponent called.

Eastgate{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}

The {9-Spades} completed the board, giving Eastgate a full house for kicks and giggles, and the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event champion doubled to 94,000 chips.
