Margets Making Moves

We caught up with the action on a board that read {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades}. There was already about 35,000 in the middle, when Margets checked to her lone opponent. He fired out 13,300, and after about a minute in the tank, Margets moved all in for alittle under 40,000 total. Her opponent immediately folded, and Margets showed {a-}{k-} for ace high. She cracked a smile after tabling her hand, and Ali Eslami simply commented "big pot".

After that hand, Margets is up to 88,000.

Baker Shoves

From under the gun, a player raised to 2,500. David "ODB" Baker reraised to 5,300 from the cutoff seat and the original raiser called to see the {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop. The first player checked and Baker bet 4,200. His opponent check-raised to 10,000 and then Baker moved all in for a little over 40,000. His opponent folded and Baker won the pot.

Timex Busts "Patient" Opponent

Mike "Timex" McDonald led out for 16,600 on a board of {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}. His opponent moved all in for 59,400, then gave a little speech. We couldn't hear it clearly, but McDonald responded by saying, "You've been pretty patient."

McDonald screwed up his face, and tanked for the better part of two minutes. He eventually grabbed enough orange T5,000 chips to make the call, and committed them.

"Set of sixes?" McDonald asked, tabling {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

His opponent sighed, then turned over two red eights. The {6-Hearts} completed the board, and the player was eliminated.

"I thought he had sixes," a player at the table announced after the hand.

"I too thought he had sixes," said another.

The entire table burst into laughter, but no one was happier than McDonald, who now has over 200,000 chips.

Levy Sent Packing

It wasn't a good day for Australian Poker Pro Grant Levy. He came into today with 67,000 in chips, but he wasn't able to get anything going. We caught his last hand of the day, where he shoved his last 11,200 in preflop with {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Unfortunately, he ran into another player's {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. The board ran down {j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, and Levy was sent to the rail.

The Defending Champ Gives It Up

We saw the ESPN cameras filming over at Pius Heinz's table and made our way over to discover he was contemplating a decision after betting 7,000 on a {10-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Clubs} board only to have his opponent raise to 20,000. There was about 20,000 already in the pot from previous action, so it was a fairly big hand.

Heinz thought as the cameras rolled, but ultimately he laid it down, which appeared to be a good choice as his opponent showed {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

Yang Chipping Up

Action started with 2007 Main Event Champion Jerry Yang in the hijack, and he raised it up to 3,200. Action folded to the button, and he raised it up to 8,100. Yang tagged along, and the flop came down {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Yang checked to his opponent, who fired out 8,800. Yang came back with a check raise to 24,000, and his opponent laid his hand down.

After that hand, Yang shot up to 142,000.
