Bari's Overbet Gets Paid Off

When we arrived at Allen Bari's table, we saw that he was heads up on a board that read {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. There was only about 1,000 in the middle, but Bari had an overbet of 3,350 out in front of him. His opponent, Charles Croft, thought for about 20 seconds before tossing in the call. Bari showed {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a rivered full house, and Croft sent his cards to the muck.

Devo Grabs an Early Pot

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

We caught up with this at the river between Bryan Devonshire and Jonathan Sorscher. They were at the river with a 3,000 pot and a board of {6-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}.

Sorscher bet 2,500 on the river and Devonshire tank-stared at Sorscher. After several long moments Devonshire tossed in a call and tabled {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} for the nut flush.

Tryba Sinks Sands

Chris Tryba raised under the gun to 125, and David Doc Sands three-bet to 350 from the cutoff. It got back to Tryba, and he tossed in the call. They went heads up to a flop of {2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and Tryba checked to Sands, who fired out 475. Tryba check raised it to 1,500. Sands called, and we were off to the turn.

That card came down the {3-Diamonds}, and Tryba didn't slow down, firing out 2,600. Sands took about 30 seconds to make the call, and the river was the {5-Diamonds}, bringing four diamonds on board. This didn't deter Tryba, as he fired out 5,750. Sands went deep into the tank on this one, thinking for about three minutes. Eventually, he kicked his cards in, giving the pot to Tryba.
