Radoja Overcomes Venovski

Level 11 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Mark Radoja Advances
Mark Radoja Advances

Alexander Venovski had the button. He popped it up to 50,000 and Mark Radoja looked at his cards and announced that he was all in. The was a bet for Venovski's tournament life and Venovski counted out that he had around 385,000 behind. After a moment of deliberation, Venvovski called.

Venovski: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Radoja: {Q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The flop brought {9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} which gave Radoja additional outs to take the lead while taking away Venovski's tens, but Venovski still retained the lead with ace-high. The {5-Hearts} on fourth street changed little, but the {J-Clubs} on the river meant that Venovski was officially eliminated here in the round of 16. Radoja was able to advance and will play Phil Hellmuth in the round of 8 later this evening.

Radoja Looks on the Bright Side

Level 10 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Alex Venovski limped in on the button, Mark Radoja raised to 45,000, and Venovski called.

The dealer fanned {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Radoja led out for 30,000, and Venovski raised to 73,000. Radoja clicked it back, making it 116,000, and Venovski called.

The turn was the {3-Spades}, Radoja led out for a mere 57,000, and Venovski tank-called.

Radoja then went all in for 239,000 after the {9-Clubs} completed the board, and Venovski quickly called. Radoja ripped over {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for kings full of threes, then sighed when Venovski tabled {k-Clubs}{7-Spades} for the same hand.

"F*** me," Radoja said under his breath. "The river could've been a seven, I guess."

Bonomo Busts Mirzikinian to Advance

Level 10 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Justin Bonomo Advances
Justin Bonomo Advances

We caught up with the action on fourth street to see {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} on the felt. Warwick Mirzikinian checked and Justin Bonomo fired 50,000 into the middle. Mirzikinian called to see the final card.

The dealer tapped the table and produced the {6-Clubs} on the river and Mirzikinian checked. Bonomo cut out a bet of 120,000. Mirzikinian thought for about twenty seconds before plopping down a call. Bonomo tabled {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Mirzikinian shot his hand at the muck. This hand dropped Mirzikinian's down to 120,000 and he ended up getting it in moments later.

On the final hand, Mirzikinian shoved for his last 113,000 from the button with {10-}{2-} and Bonomo called with {K-}{6-}. Mirzikinian failed to pair up and Bonomo suddenly found himself with a spot in the elite eight.

Sauce Finds a Double

Level 10 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Ben Sulsky was all in and at risk for his last 168,000 holding {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. He was behind the {a-Clubs}{6-Spades} of Phil Galfond, and remained behind when the flop fell {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, but he picked up a double gut-shot straight draw. The {q-Diamonds} on the turn gave him a king-high straight, and he held when the {4-Clubs} bricked on the river.

All of the chips are on the table now, and Sulsky is still behind with 336,000 to Galfond's 624,000.

Galfond Getting Closer to the Elite Eight

Level 6 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

After being forced down to his last 160,000 lammer, Phil Galfond has roared back in his match against Ben Sulsky.

This time it was an all-in confrontation before the flop, with Galfond's {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs} holding up over Sulsky's {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} on a clean {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} runout.

With a group of poker fans standing directly behind him, Galfond heard a "go Phil!" from the rail, and he showed why he is such a respected figure for younger poker fans by turning to say "thanks guys, I really appreciate your support."

Galfond Cracks Sulsky's Kings to Double

Level 6 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Ben Sulsky had the button. He opened to 32,000 and Phil Galfond replied by moving all in for 256,000. Sulsky snapped him off and the hands were rolled over:

Sulsky: {K-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Galfond: {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Galfond paired his small card on the {4-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop but it was still not enough to best Sulsky's cowboys. The turn, however, catapulted Galfond into the lead when it brought the {A-Spades} for two pair. Galfond finished off the hand with a full boat with the {a-Clubs} on the river and he was able to double into the chip with with 512,000 in chips. After the hand Sulsky still had 160,000 worth of chips behind with an add-on.

Level 6 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

The flop read {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} when we found Mark Radoja check over to Alexander Venovski. Venovski bet enough to put Radoja all in and Radoja called.

Venovski: {8-Diamonds}{6c
Radoja: {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {4-Hearts} hit fourth street and gave Venovski outs to make a straight with a seven and he made exactly that as the {7-Spades} struck the river, sending Radoja's head into his hands. Venvoski scooped the pot and is at 640,000 while Radoja cashed in both of his add-ons and now has 320,000 in chips.
