In last year's WSOP, Dominik Nitsche won a bracelet in a similar $1,000 buy-in (Event #59A) and had five additional cashes. He recently posted his first cash of this summer with 82nd place in Event #14: $ 1,500 No Limit Hold'em for $4,174. Nitsche is back on the felt today hoping to make it a long three days.

A Day By The Pool Beckons

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

"Mad" Marvin Rettenmaier has busted out after just two hands of this tournament. We caught up with him as he exited the tournament area.

"How's it going?" we asked Rettenmaier.

"I busted two hands in" came the reply

"Really?"

"Yeah. I had a straight flush draw and missed."

" At least you get a day off!"

"Not really. I'm going to play the $5k later. I'm going to spend a day by the pool."

After giving a hand shake and a hug Rettenmaier headed to the pool for some relaxation.

The Names Just Keep Rolling In

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

We are rapidly approaching 1,900 runner in this $1,000 event and as that figure increases so does the number of established pros in the field.

A quick scout around the room resulted in brief chats with the likes of Sam Grafton, Sam Razavi and James "Flushy" Dempsey.

Number Two For Annette?

Level 1 : 25/25, 0 ante
Annette Obrestad (from Event #7)
Annette Obrestad (from Event #7)

Annette Obrestad is back at work today hoping to earn her 2nd WSOP Victory and Gold Bracelet. She is the youngest player to win one of the coveted bracelets, when at 18-years old she took down the 2007 World Series Of Poker - Europe, London. Obrestad has been busy this summer playing in several events and has a 42nd place finish in Event #7: $ 1,000 No Limit Hold'em for $6,051. Maybe this is the event where she will once again find gold.
