DeGilio Doubles

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Mike DeGilio, who was one of the shorter stacks on the bubble, was all in and at risk preflop for 44,000 with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. James Copher had him at risk with {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}, and the {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} flop gave DeGilio a gut-shot straight draw. The {6-Hearts} on the turn gave him a flush draw, and he was now drawing to seventeen outs.

The {k-Spades} on the river was one of those outs, and DeGilio doubled to 90,000 chips.
