Puffin Purp

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Over at Table 275 in the Yellow Section of the Pavilion Room, 2012 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Carter Phillips was heads up with Ty "puffinmypurp" Reiman on a flop of {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Phillips checked, Reiman fired out 1,350, and the turn brought the {9-Hearts}.

Phillips checked a second time, Reiman plopped forward 3,200, and Phillips called.

The {a-Spades} completed the board, Phillips checked a third and final time, and Reiman bet 7,400. Phillips called once again, then mucked when Reiman showed {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for aces and kings.

Korik Doubles With Quad Aces, Still Short

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

John Hennigan, known as "Johnny World" because he'll bet on anything in the world according to his Wikipedia entry, opened up to 525 from mid position. Online superstar Zachary Korik moved all in for just 1,700 from the small blind and received a quick call from initial-raiser Hennigan.

Korik showed the {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and needed his hand to hold up against Hennigan's {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. After the flop Korik was sure to double-up with {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Hearts}. The {A-Clubs} on the turn made his hand even better, although he didn't need it. Hennigan shouted "Four f*cking aces? Fuck man!" One of the players at the table replied that the {7-Hearts} on the river had given him a fullhouse, making the situation even more a "set-up". All laughed as Hennigan could easily miss the mere 1,700 it costed him to double up Korik.

Sowers Gets Dealt the Exact Same Hand Twice

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Matt Waxman opened to 300 in the hijack seat, Mike Sowers three-bet to 750 on the button, and Brian Hastings cold four-bet to 1,700 from the big blind. Waxman thought for 15 seconds or so before folding, and Sowers five-bet to 3,750. Hastings moved all in for around 11,000 or so, and Sowers called.

Sowers: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Hastings: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

"I had Stinger beat," Waxman said, referring to Hastings' holdings.

The tens held as the board rolled out {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}, and Hastings was eliminated.

The very next hand, Jake Schwartz opened to 400 in early position, Sowers called in the cutoff, and the button and both blinds released. Schwartz led out for 400 on a flop of {6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Sowers called, and the turn brought the {9-Diamonds}. Schwartz led out again, this time for 850, and again, Sowers called.

The {5-Diamonds} completed the board, and Schwartz checked for the first time. Sowers tossed out two yellow T1,000 chips, and Schwartz flipped forward a single green T25 chip, signaling a call. Sowers showed {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for the exact same hand as he had in the previous hand, but Schwartz had that beat with {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for aces.

The clock reads 462 players at the moment and people are still entering the tournament. The amount of seasoned pro's is staggering with on every table at least four to five well known players. This bracelet will be one of the toughest to win, but that just makes it sweeter if you'll hold it on your wrist in a day or four right?

Strange Near Double for Chewy

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

When we arrived at the table, Andrew "luckychewy" Lichtenberger was all in for 6,200 on a board of {3-Spades}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Mike Gorodinsky, who had bet out 4,525 on the river, was in the tank, and after the dealer pulled in the bets, he mucked his hand.

Lichtenberger pulled in the pot, and is back up to 20,000 after losing a pot to Phelps. Gorodinsky is down to 9,350.
