Day 2 on the Horizon

Day 2 of Event #2: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em (Eight Handed) is set to start in 15 minutes or so, and leading the remaining 194 players is Tom Marchese. After winning a big hand at the end of Day 1, Marchese bagged 153,975, and the next closest player was Scott Baumstein. Baumstein (111,100) and David "Doc" Sands (110,875) were the only other players to bag over six figures.

Among the returning players are bracelet winners Antonio Esfandiari, Gavin Griffin, Ryan Eriquezzo, Dan Kelly, Vanessa Selbst, Barry Greenstein, Brandon Cantu, and Phil Hellmuth. Hellmuth, who earned bracelets 12 and 13 last year is short, with 29,075 chips, but is very experienced in wielding the short stack.

The plan is to play 10 levels then bag and tag for the evening. This is a four-day event, so we will not crown a winner until Saturday or Sunday morning - our bets are on the latter. If you want a seat draw, you can go here.
