We caught up with the action in a three way pot between John Monnette, Won Goag, and Calen McNeil. The action was on the turn, with the board reading . Goag bet out, and Monnette raised it up. McNeil tanked for about 30 seconds before calling, and Goag called as well. The hit the river, and it was checked to McNeil, who fired out. Both players quickly called, and McNeil announced "set" and showed . Monnette showed for the nut low, and Goag folded his hand.
After taking half of that pot, Monnette is our first player to break the 500k mark.
Four players saw a flop of . Both blinds checked to Dale Beaudoin, who had raised preflop. He kept the lead, and everyone called. The turn came , and the blinds again checked to Beaudoin, who bet. This time, only Stephen Chidwick, in the small blind, made the call. The river brought an , and Chidwick check-called a final time.
"Nut low and a straight," Beaudoin said, revealing . Chidwick mucked his hand.
Randy Ohel was crippled after Can Kim Hua check-raised him on the turn with the board reading . Ohel made the call, and the river was a . A frustrated Ohel folded to Hua's river bet. Hua showed him for the nuts. Ohel was eliminated a short while later, with Hua once again scooping the pot.
Since returning to break, we have hardly seen any pots develop. With Dmitrii Valouev being the only severely short stack player, most of the middle stacks are trading chips back and forth in chopped pots, meaning that no one is really moving up or down the leader board right now. Valouev should be all in any hand now, so that may boost the action up a bit.
Kevin Zhang limped on the button, Tony Ma completed the blind and Sumanth Reddy checked.
The blinds checked to Zhang on the flop, and he fired a bet. Ma called. The turn came , and Ma check-called once more. He did the same on the river. Zhang showed for a turned straight with an ace-four low. Ma couldn't beat either hand.
Dmitrii Valouev made a valiant comeback from the less then a big blind stack he had earlier in the day, working it all the way back up to 100,000 at his peak. However, his stack was grinded back down, and he just busted at the hands of Calen McNeil and Dao Bac.
McNeil started the action with a raise, and Bac called behind him. Valouev also called from the big blind, and the flop came down . Valouev bet his last 13,000, and both his opponents called. McNeil the bet the on the turn, and the on the river. Bac called both bets, and McNeil showed for a straight. Bac held for the low, and Valouev couldn't beat either with .
After that hand, McNeil is up to 350,000, while Bac holds 180,000.
