Pocket Threes for Boeree

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Not surprisingly for a six handed event, play is quite aggressive even in the tournament's early stages.

In a recent hand, a player raised pre-flop to 125, and Liv Boeree three-bet to 300. Both the small blind and the original raiser called. On the {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, action checked to Boeree, who continued for 600. The small blind folded, but her other opponent called, and the dealer turned the {2-Clubs}. Both players checked, and then check again when the river brought the {10-Hearts}. The original pre-flop raiser showed {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for a missed nut-flush draw, and Boeree showed {3-}{3-}. Her unimproved pair of threes was enough to win, and Boeree raked in the pot.
