Marco Polo

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

A player in early position opened for 6,000, and Marco Johnson called, but a third player decided to make things more interesting, reraising to 27,5000. The original bettor folded, but Johnson wanted to take a look at the flop, which came {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

After making a pot-sized lead out bet, Johnson heard his opponent quietly announce himself all-in. Holding the {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, the flop gave Johnson every draw in the world, so he decided to make the call.

His opponent turned over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Hearts} for the big overpair, but he was dodging half of the deck, and althiugh the {A-Clubs} on the turn gave him trips, the {6-Hearts} on the river completed Johnson's straight.
