The announcements have been made, and the cards are in the air!
AP Phahurat hadn't even finished stacking up his chips before he was already involved in an all-in pot. We aren't sure what the betting action was, but we saw that Phahurat was in great shape holding against the of James Gilbert. However, the advantage swapped when the flop came . Phahurat was now looking for a queen to win the hand, but the board completed and , giving Gilbert unnecessary trips.
After that hand, Gilbert is up over 20,000, while Phahurat is now a short stack with 15,000.

From the cutoff position Timothy Adams raised it up to 2,500. The player on the button folded but Daniel Cascado, starting the hand with 60,400 in the small blind, bumped it up to 5,900. The big blind threw his hand straight in the muck but Adams had other plans. Carefully he cut out 10,800 and put that in the middle. This four bet was called by Cascado who checked to Adams on . Adams checked behind and the popped up on the turn. Cascado checked again, but now folded as Adams bet 8,600.

We just saw Jimmy Fricke getting eliminated by his next door neighbor Salvator Dicarlo. We missed the precise preflop action, as we arrived at the time when all chips were already in the middle, but we suspect Fricke had just put all his chips in from the small blind. Dicarlo in the big blind had looked him up. One of the first hands of the day would be very important for Fricke.
Fricke was going to battle with while Dicarlo had . The flop made them switch which card to root for: . No one would hit though with the on the turn and on the river. Jimmy Fricke wished the table good luck and made his way to the exit.

Adam Levy came into today as one of the shortest stacks, so we knew he was going to get it in quickly. Sure enough, we saw him move his last 8,000 in the middle as we walked by, and he was called by the player on the button.

Steve Zolotow opened under-the-gun to 3,100 and was met with two all ins behind him. Todd Akiyama in seat seven pushed for just about double Zolotow's raise and Jon Graham pushed a little bit more than that. When the action folded back to Zolotow, he made the call and showed his . Todd Akiyama tabled while Jon Graham showed his .
No one would hit this time and thus the best hand preflop, was that postriver as well: | | . Steve "The Bald Eagle" Zolotow broke about even on the hand since Graham's chips covered the loss to Akiyama.
