Just Danz

Level 13

Joe Cassidy opened with an early position raise and George Danzer made it three bets to go. Eugene Katchalov called on the button and it came back to Cassidy who called.

The flop came {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Cassidy checked. Danzer continued out with a bet and Katchalov quickly kicked his hand into the muck. Cassidy stuck around and the two saw the {4-Spades} fall on the turn. Cassidy check-called another bet and a third six- the {6-Clubs} finished off the board. Cassidy checked a third time and Danzer fired one last bet. Cassidy called.

Danzer fanned {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} onto the felt for sixes full of deuces and a sixty-four. Cassidy picked up his cards, looked at them, and flung them at the muck. Danzer scooped it up and now has about 26,000.

Seidel Scoops Soulier

Level 13

Erik Seidel raised from the cutoff and Fabrice Soulier called from the big blind.

The flop fell {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Soulier check-called a bet from Seidel to see the {Q-Clubs} turn. Soulier led out this time, Seidel called, and the {A-Hearts} river completed the board. Soulier fired again, but this time Seidel raised.

Soulier called, but mucked when Seidel tabled {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for the nut flush with a 6-4 low.

Matusow Climbing

Level 13

The board read {6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} when we found Mike Matusow heads up with an opponent. Matusow checked and his opponent thought for a moment before checking behind. The {2-Hearts} fell on the river and Matusow fired off a bet. His opponent took a bit of time to think but finally decided on a call.

"That was a good check you made on the turn," remarked Matusow as he showed {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a hand that was good enough for a scoop with trip fours and a sixty-four. Matusow is now one of the biggest stack of the room with about 125,000 in chips.

Greenstein Gets Quartered

Level 13

Action folded to Barry Greenstein's small blind and he raised the action. Pat Pezzin flat called from the big blind and the two saw the {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop hit the felt. Greenstein led and Pezzin called. The {2-Spades} turned and Greenstein led once more only to find Pezzin with another quick call.

The {5-Spades} rivered and Greenstein fired one more bet. On this street, however, Pezzin put out a raise which Greenstein quickly called.

Pezzin tabled {A-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} for a flush and the nut low and Greenstein showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for the same nut low and a worse high. Greenstein took back a quarter of the pot while Pezzin grabbed the other three quarters. Pezzin is now on about 50,000 to Greenstein's 12,000.
