Timoshenko Gets Straight into the Round of Eight

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Yevgeniy Timoshenko
Yevgeniy Timoshenko

Before the flop Yorane Kerignard opened with a raise to 8,000. From the big blind, Yevgeniy Timoshenko reraised to 20,000. Kerignard called.

The flop came down {8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and Kerignard opened with a bet of 24,000. Timoshenko went into the tank and after a while, he grabbed two green T25,000 chips placed them on a stack of 20 pink T5,000 chips and reraised to 150,000. Kerignard quickly moved all in and Timoshenko called even quicker.

Timoshenko: {6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Kerignard: {A-Spades}{4-Spades}

Timoshenko was ahead but still needed to dodge a spade to advance to the round of eight. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} keeping Timoshenko in the lead. It was the {J-Clubs} on the river that secured Timoshenko's spot in the next round of heads up match where he will either face Nick Binger or Isaac Hagerling depending on who wins the match.
