Saout Doubles Short Stack

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Antoine Saout called a short stack all in with {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and was slightly ahead of his opponents {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The board ran out {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. With that Saout doubled the short stack and moved down the chip count to 130,000

Cheung Has Fallen

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Just 15 minutes ago we wrote about the rise of Robert Cheung who was nearing 100,000 in chips. He's out now though after running a big hand into a bigger one.

Michael Rocco was the villain in this story. Rocco and Cheung saw a queen high flop where Rocco had flopped top two with {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, while Cheung had {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. There was no way to avoid a collision for Cheung and all the chips went in the middle. The ace on the turn gave him some outs to counterfeit Rocco but he wouldn't hit on the river. Rocco is now one of the bigger stacks in the room.

What Happened to Pegasus

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We were not on scene when it happened but Mark "Pegasus" Smith who had a nice stack all day is down to only 16,000. Michael Rocco was kind enough to share the hand that cripple Smith.

According to Rocco he told us that re raised to 5,500 preflop. Then Smith re-raised to 13,600. The action folded to the big blind who pushed all in for something over 50,000. Rocco folded but Smith called. Smith tabled {k-}{q-} while his opponent had him crushed with {a-}{q-}. The board did not run out in Smith's favor and the man known as "Pegasus" went down to under ten big blinds.

Cheung On the Rise

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Bracelet winner Robert Cheung ($1,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament in 2007 for $673,628) just beat a player in a sizable pot. We saw the counting part after the river was already out there, but believe it went all in on the turn on a {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Spades} | {K-Hearts} board. Cheung had {2-Spades}{4-Spades} in the small blind and had his opponent drawing to just two outs with his {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. The river was the {7-Clubs} and Cheung eliminated a player.

Chafin Shaves Sabat

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Dylon Chafin pushed all in over the top of an opponents all in. The original raiser, Eddy Sabat, tanked after two players moved all in. He was contemplating what to do with his {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. If he called it would be for half his chips. After some time he made the call and his other two opponents flipped up their cards. Chafin held {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} while the third opponent had {k-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Chafin was in good shape to nearly triple up. The flop came {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. The turn the {3-Spades} and the river the {q-Hearts}. With that Chafin won the huge pot eliminating his opponent and damaging Sabat in the process. Sabat survived with 47,000.

Yosifov Rivered

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Dimitar Yosifov opened the hijack and just the big blind came along. The big blind check called 3,600 on {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and the dealer added the {7-Hearts} to the board. The big blind checked again and shoved for 26,500 as Yosifov made a 8,000 bet. The player from Bulgaria called immediately and tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The big blind had {4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a pair and a flush draw and would hit the river: {4-Diamonds}.
