As usual, we expect several big names to slowly make their way into the room throughout the first few levels, but for now, here's who we spotted in the gold section already. Most of these players have yet to cash in their lammers, but we will report their full 4,500 stack, and let you know in specific posts about the players if they have used their lammers or not yet.

Today we have the first of two Pot-Limit Omaha HI-Low 8-or-better events at this year’s World Series of Poker, as Day 1 of Event #31 $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Low 8-or-better is about to get underway. Last year, this event drew a big field of 978 players, with Steven Loube ultimately emerging as champion. Along with the bracelet, he walked away with $267,345!
The biggest notable at that final table was the player who finished runner-up: Timothy Finne. It was his fourth final table in five years at the series, and his highest payday at the Rio in his career. Other pros who cashed were Dario Alioto (17th), Lee Watkinson (25th), Dan Heililler (26th), Barry Greenstein (32nd), Allen Kessler (71st), Joe Tehan (79th), and Andy Frankenberger (97th).
Play will be kicking off at noon today, and we will be playing through ten levels of split pots and scoops. Like last year, players will start out with 1,500 in chips, and have two lammers they can cash in at any time during the first four levels. We will be here all day to bring you the action, so make sure you don’t go anywhere! Until we start, get caught up on all the action from yesterday with Sarah Grant’s recap!
