DeMaci Doubles Into Break

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

About four minutes into break Chris DeMaci was all in with an opponent tanking. Eventually the player who was in the tank folded his {Q-}{q-} face up, leaving DeMaci and one other player going to a showdown.

DeMaci: {J-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Player: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}

The flop came down {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. "That flop is like the world's fair!" DeMaci said. "I didn't even look at my cards, I just didn't want to come back from dinner break. The turn was the {J-Hearts} giving DeMaci the lead with trips.

"Give the man an ace," DeMaci said to the dealer.

But it wasn't an ace, it was the {2-Spades} that hit the river, giving DeMaci the win and the pot. DeMaci quickly counted his chips before heading off to dinner break.

Balsiger Practicing His Karate

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante
Jacob Balsiger
Jacob Balsiger

After one player limped, Jake Balsiger raised to 700 from the hijack seat. The player in the small blind called him as did the limper.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} and the small blind checked. The player who limped in moved all in for 1,925. Balsiger didn't take long to make the call which forced out the small blind player.

Balsiger: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Limper: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} giving both players two pair. The river was the {K-Hearts} though, giving both players the same five card hand, two pair with a king kicker. With that the players chopped the pot.

"You're the most beautiful card in the deck!" the limper said, motioning towards the {K-Hearts} that fell on the river.

Neil Channing Doubles

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante
Neil Channing
Neil Channing

After a raise of 400 preflop, Neil Channing raised to 1,150 from the cutoff. Only the original raiser called.

On the flop of {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} both players checked to see the {3-Diamonds} on the turn. On the turn, the first to act player put out a bet of 1,500. From there Channing moved all in for 2,800 more. The player looked pained about it but eventually made the call.

Channing: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Original Raiser: {A-}{J-}

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and that was good enough for Channing to double through here on day one.

Maxim Lykov Appears, With Chips

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Maxim Lykov has flown mostly under the radar today as well. When we walked by his table he was raking in a huge pot and stacking up his chips quite high. He's got roughly nine times his starting stack and looks like he'll be cruising on it for a while.

Ramdin Shows Up

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Victor Ramdin must've just entered at the last minute, or gone under the radar for most of the day, because we just recently found him among the field.

In a recent hand we saw Ramdin open to 400 from middle position. He fo-und one caller in the next seat over. The flop came down {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Ramdin put out a bet of 600 only to be reraised to 1,300. Ramdin quickly folded and moved on to his next hand.

Even after that pot, Ramdin is still doing alright with just about double the starting stack.
