Sergey Tikhonov Eliminated in 16th Place ($12,587)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Sergey Tikhonov
Sergey Tikhonov

Sergey Tikhonov raised to 25,000 under the gun, and action folded to Rory Mathews in the small blind. Mathews three-bet to 55,000, and the big blind folded. Tikhonov thought briefly before moving all in, and Mathews called immediately.

Mathews: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Tikhonov: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Tikhonov was in bad shape for his tournament life, and nearly all suspense ended when the flop came {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{k-Hearts}. The turn was {8-Hearts}, ending Tikhonov's tournament life in 16th.

Mark Jun

Denis Gnidash raised to 20,000, and Mark Jun came over the top for all his chips, a total of 124,000. Gnidash called and showd {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Jun held {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, giving Gnidash a winning pair of queens and knocking Jun out of the tournament in 17th place. He'll earn $12,587 for his efforts.

Ariel Celestino opened the preflop action with a raise to 21,000, and Sven Rumcker pushed all in for 101,000. Celestino tanked for a minute, then reluctantly called and showed {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Rumcker held {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The board came {8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts}, giving Celestino trips and eliminating Rumcker from the tournament. He earns $12,587 for his 18th place finish.

Tikhonov Folds the River

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We picked up the action heads up between Sergey Tikhonov, who checked over to Daniel Neilson on a board of {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Neilson bet 66,000, and Tikhonov called after a couple of minutes of thought. The river was the {10-Spades}, and Tikhonov again checked. Neilson shipped the rest of it in for 155,000. Tikhonov tanked once again, but this time he elected to fold.

Benjamin Luhr Eliminated in 19th Place ($10,187)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Benjamin Luhr pushed his short stack into the middle from late position, and Dan Murariu was the only caller.

Murariu: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Luhr: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Disappointment set in early for Luhr, as the door card was the {7-Hearts}. A {3-Spades} and {j-Hearts} were revealed behind it. Luhr asked for a heart on the turn, but the dealer placed a {9-Clubs} down. A {2-Hearts} completed the board, and Luhr's tournament had reached a disappointing end.

Mike Ellis Eliminated in 20th Place ($10,187)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We found Mike Ellis all in on the turn with {q-}{j-}, as the board read {j-}{5-}{3-}{9-}. Unfortunately for him, Jonathan Bennett had {a-}{j-} and more chips than Ellis. The river was a {10-}, and Ellis was finished.

Bob Roseberry Eliminated in 21st Place ($10,187)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Thiago Nishijima raised to 22,000 preflop, and Norbert Szecsi pushed all-in with a covering stack. Then Bob Roseberry called with a smaller stack, and Nishijima folded.

Roseberry: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Szecsi: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, giving Szecsi two pair and the pot. Roseberry was eliminated in 21st place, earning $10,187.

Balint Pusztai Eliminated in 22nd place ($10,187)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Chris DeMaci raised to 20,000 from middle position, and Balint Pusztai reraised from the small blind. Rory Mathews moved in behind him from the big blind, and DeMaci folded.

Pusztai: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Mathews: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The flop brought all diamonds: {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Since Mathews had a diamond, Pusztai was down to one out. The {j-Clubs} and {7-Spades} finished out the board, and Pusztai was down to about 70,000.

A few hands later, he jammed after it was folded to him in late position, and Jeffrey Forrest called from the big blind.

Forrest: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Pusztai: {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Pusztai had live cards, but not for long, as the flop came {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs}. A {q-Clubs} on the turn ended the hand, and Pusztai was done in 22nd.
