Habib Dabbagh Bubbles in Gut Wrenching Fashion

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Habib Dabbagh was in the big blind for 2,400 of his 2,900 chips on the first hand of play. Will Jaffe raised it up in early position to 5,500, and it folded around to Dabbagh in the big blind. He peeked down at his cards, and clearly wasn't thrilled with what he saw. He began to tank, and started playing around with his cards. On several occasions, it looked like he was starting to fold his hand, but every time, he pulled it back. After about two minutes of deliberation, he dropped his final 500 chip in.

Dabbagh: {5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Jaffe: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Dabbagh was drawing very live, and short of pairing the flop, it couldn't have come much better, as it brought the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, giving Dabbagh a diamond draw. It was at this point that the floor saw the flop, and told the dealer to hold up for the rest of the hands to finish. At the WSOP, if there is an all in and a call on the bubble, the dealer is supposed to hold up for all other action to finish, so that the rest of the players don't see that someone may have busted. So for about two or three minutes, Dabbagh was stuck hoping that a five, two, or diamond would come.

Finally, the dealer continued dealing out the board.

Turn: {6-Hearts}

It was ever so close to giving Dabbagh the winning hand, but he was still behind and needing a card.

River: {10-Spades}

Dabbagh stood motionless at the site of the board, then with a devastated look on his face, slowly walked away from the table. No one else had busted, meaning that he was the last player eliminated before the money. He spent the next five minutes at a nearby empty table with his head in his hands, wondering what could have been, before slowly exiting the Amazon room.
