Rodman Busts

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

After a limp, Blair Rodman committed his final 3,700 from the small blind with both the big blind and limper making the call.

The two active players checked down the {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{A-Clubs} board to see Rodman table his {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for aces-up and a 8-7 low.

However his opponent's would table {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} (for a better low) and {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs} (for a better high) to send Rodman to the rail.

"And the beats continued!" added Rodman as he left the table.

O'Shea Speaks English

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
John O'Shea
John O'Shea

We recently caught a small hand with John Oshea and Ashly Butler. Before the flop, Oshea raised to 2600. He was reraised by Butler from the small blind to 6,500. Oshea called.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Oshea checked to Butler who put out a bet of 7,200. Oshea called. The turn was the {4-Spades} and Oshea checked to Butler again who moved all in for a little over 10,000. Oshea snap folded and it was a good fold as Butler showed {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the nut low and wheel.

After the hand Oshea was talking to one of the PokerNews.com photograhpers. Apparently, because of Oshea's thick Irish accent, and that of our photographer, the dealer informed both men that only english was allowed at the table.

"I speak English!" was O'Shea's reply.

Davis Quartered

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Catching the action on the flop of {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} we found Zhen Cai betting out 9,700. Raymond Davis raised to 40,000 and the two players folded before Cai put Davis all in for his remaining 28,000. Davis called and the cards were tabled.

Davis: {A-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Cai: {A-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

With Davis having the low locked up (and a free roll to the chopped high) and Cai having the high locked up (with a freeroll to a chopped low), the turn of the {5-Hearts} changed little. But it would be the {2-Spades} on the river that would counterfeit Davis' lock on the low and see him quartered and down to 20,000 as Cai moves to 154,000 in chips.

Cernuto Chipping Up

John Cernuto in an earlier event.
John Cernuto in an earlier event.

At the start of the day "Miami" John Cernuto was in the middle of the pack chips wise, but as of late, Cernuto has climbed to the top of the pack and he sits upon a stack of just around 100,000. That's good for one of the biggest stacks in the room just behind Zhen Cai and Paul Tedeschi.
