Up and Down for Danzer

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

We just caught George Danzer in a couple of hands that saw his stack go up and down like a yo-yo. The first hand was in Stud-8, and we didn't catch the action until the final card was dealt.

MacPhee: {x-}{x-} / {3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} / {x-}
Danzer: {x-}{x-} / {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} / {x-}

On the final street, Danzer put out a bet, and MacPhee raised it up. Danzer tanked for quite some time, before ultimately electing to call, but he mucked when MacPhee rolled over {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} for trip fives. That boosted MacPhee up to 93,000, while knocking Danzer down to 33,400.

A few hands later, in the Omaha-8 section, we saw Danzer heads up with Justin Smith on a {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. Danzer led out, and Smith raised it up. Danzer made the call, and the {2-Spades} hit the turn. Danzer check called a bet from Smith, and the river brought the {j-Diamonds}. Both players checked, and Danzer rolled over {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} for jacks and deuces. It was good enough, as Smith released his hand. That knocked Smith down to 39,500, while Danzer jumped back up to 58,000.
