Ashton Leads the Way: Elezra and Matusow Lurking

Matthew Ashton
Matthew Ashton

Yesterday, we played eight levels of Omaha and Stud Eight-or-Better. After a night full of splits, quarters, and scoops, Matthew Ashton led the way, bagging up 57,800. He’s followed by a bracelet winner, Allyn Jaffrey Shulman, who will bring 51,500 into today.

Everywhere you look in this field, you will find notables, because they love to come out for the Mixed Game tournaments. Left in the field are a slew of bracelet winners, including Eli Elezra (38,700), Men “The Master” Nguyen (35,200), Mike Matusow (29,200), Scott Clements (25,900), Adam Friedman (22,200), Todd Brunson (20,900), Robert Mizrachi (20,700), and Daniel Negreanu (12,700), just to name a few.

Some of the non-bracelet winner notables who will also be returning today are Allen Kessler (28,500), Matt Glantz (27,600), Jeremy Ausmus (26,500), Maria Ho (17,200), and Chad Brown (8,700).

Play will get underway in less than an hour, and we will play a full ten levels today. We will hit the money at some point today, and while the goal is to get to the final table, that will be unlikely. Of course, Pokernews will be here all day giving you the live updates, so you don’t want to go anywhere!
