Boeree Off To A Rocky Start

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

We approached the table as Liv Boeree was contemplating the all in from Christy Burt for her final 11,400. Boeree made the call and was behind heading to the flop.

Boeree: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Burt: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The board fell {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} to keep Burt alive. This is not the start Boeree was looking for but the day is young.

Ladies Championship Day 2: The Money Bubble Is Looming

Welcome to Day 2 of the Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Championship. The tournament began when 954 ladies took their seats in the hopes of joining an elite club of gold bracelet winners. The dream remains alive for 122 of those women but the first goal of the day is to make the money. The tournament is paying 117 players, which means five unfortunate ladies will be leaving without a payday.

The field drew an impressive list of female notable players including: Vanessa Selbst, Vanessa Rousso, Kara Scott and Liv Boeree. From that list only Liv Boeree remains. Boeree has a healthy 44,600 as she continues her quest for victory. It is Chris Priday that leads the field with 96,200 and was responsible for eliminating Kara Scott on one of the last hands of evening when her aces held up against Scott’s ace king. Other notables to keep your eyes on are: Lauren Billings (74,600), Amanda Baker (56,200), Danielle Andersen (55,700) and Jackie Glazier (44,800).

The ladies return at 1 p.m. local time to the purple section of the Amazon Room for another ten levels of play. Stay with PokerNews for live updates from the tournament floor throughout the day. While you are waiting for the action to begin, get your latest poker news from Sara Grant who has your June 29th Update.
