Gathy is Gone

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

There was a limp in late position that was greeted with an all-in bet of 18,700 from recent WSOP bracelet winner Michael Gathy. Mathieu Laforce cold called the shove and the initial limper got out of the way.

Gathy: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Laforce: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran {5-Spades}{a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and with that Gathy was gone.

Bartlett Involved in Another Huge Pot

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Steve Bartlett opened to 4,500 from early position and the small blind called. Scott Davies was the big blind and he pumped up the cost to play to 14,500. Only Bartlett called so it was heads-up to the {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop.

Bartlett moved all in and Davies called, the latter turning over {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} as he did so. Those aces were in front of the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} of Bartlett and remained so as the {J-Diamonds} turn and {6-Hearts} river came into view.

Gimbel Claims Another Scalp

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Harrison Gimbel
Harrison Gimbel

Harrison Gimbel continues to add chips to his stack and that spells bad news for anyone who has to face him in this tournament.

Desmond Portano open-shoved from middle position for 9,400 and Josh Schoonover called next to act. The action passed around to Gimbel in the blind and he called.

The dealer spread the {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop and Gimbel bet 10,600. Schoonover folded and the cards of the other two players were revealed.

Gimbel: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Portano: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The turn and river failed to help Portano and his tournament came to an end. Gimbel seems unstoppable right now.

Wallace Approacing 200,000 Chips

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Sean Wallace has chipped up nicely and is currently sat with 175,000 chips.

A raise to 4,500 from under the gun was called by Tonio Roden in middle position, Wallace in late position and the big blind. The foursome saw the {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop come into vie, the big blind checked, the initial raiser continued with a 16,000bet and only Wallace called.

The {10-Spades} saw a 20,000 bet from the under the gun player, who then folded when Wallace moved all in for 97,000 in total.

One Outer Wins Big Pot for Rabinowitz

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Darren Rabinowitz
Darren Rabinowitz

There was a raise to 4,800 from Darren Rabinowitz from his seat under the gun and Talal Shakerchi called in the hijack. Alexander Nudin then moved all in from the button for 29,300 in total. This put the action back on Rabinowitz who shipped in his entire stack of 94,100. Shakerchi took some time to make his decision before calling.

Nudin: {A-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Shakerchi: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Rabinowitz: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Shakerchi took the lead on the {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop and his hand stayed best on the {9-Spades} turn. However, the case jack fell on the river, gifting Rabinowitz a set of jacks and a huge double up to 224,000.

"He's going to play the $50,000," said Rabinowitz about Shakerchi.

"True, but I'd prefer to win this one," came the reply.
