Maag Gets 2x From Hall

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Nicco Maag
Nicco Maag

Action folded all the way around to the small blind where Nicco Maag jammed for 177,000 total.

Thomas Hall in the big blind went into the tank, and after about a minute and a half he made the call.

Hall: {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Maag: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The flop cam down {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades} giving Hall outs to a backdoor straight, but those outs were taken away when the {4-Diamonds} hit the turn. The river was the {Q-Diamonds} securing the double up for Maag early here on Day 3 as he shoots to make the final table.

Take It To The Clerc

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Phillipe Clerc
Phillipe Clerc

Philippe Clerc has just doubled through Jason Bigelow in a big way to put himself near the top of the chip counts.

Preflop, Bigelow opened to 35,000. From the big blind, Clerc reraised to 80,000. Bigelow called.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Clerc led at it for 64,000. Bigelow reraised all in and Clerc snap called.

Bigelow: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Clerc: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

It was a mighty cooler for Bigelow who had flopped top pair against Clercs overpair. The board bricked out with a {4-Spades} and an {8-Hearts} and with that Clerc was able to snag a crucial double up.

Orjan Skommo Eliminated in 14th Place ($20,472)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Orjan Skommo
Orjan Skommo

A few minutes ago, the tournament had its first elimination of the day.

Orjan Skommo raised to 90,000 before the flop, and the dealer tossed the all-in button in front of him. Skommo quickly corrected the dealer, showing that he had some chips behind. Joseph Wertz then pushed out 90,000 for a call, and as the dealer was preparing to spread the flop, he asked how much Skommo had left. Skommo showed 13,000 worth of chips, them tossed them forward in the dark. Wertz called dark as well, and the players turned up their hands:

Skommo: {9-Spades}{6-Spades}
Wertz: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, pairing Wertz's ace and giving him the pot. Skommo made his exit, earning $20,472 for his 14th-place finish.

Thomas Hall Eliminated in 13th Place ($20,472)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Thomas Hall
Thomas Hall

Michael Zucchet began the action by raising to 45,000 from middle position. Two seats to his left, Thomas Hall moved all in for his entire stack of about 330,000. Action folded back to Zucchet who quickly called.

Zucchet: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Hall: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The flop came {J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} giving Hall a set, and it looked as if it would be an easy double up from there, but the {10-Clubs} turn gave Zucchet some outs that he didn't have before. On the river the {Q-Clubs} came, completely devastating Hall as Zucchet had hit perfect perfect to win the hand with the nut straight on the river.

Hall let out a few deep breaths but managed to maintain his composure through the brutal suck out as he shook hands with everyone and made his way from the tournament area.

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Rupesh Pattni
Rupesh Pattni

Rupesh Pattni got involved in all-confrontations with Molissa Farber on consecutive hands. On the first, Farber open-shoved all in with about 140,000, and Pattni called. Pattni held {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and was behind Farber's {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Neither player held a diamond for a flush, and Farber's pair of tens won the pot. Farber doubled up, and Pattni was left crippled.

On the next hand, Farber raised to 50,000, and Pattni three-bet all in for just a little bit more. Farber called and turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Pattni held {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, pairing Pattni's king, but not giving him enough help to pull ahead of Farber's aces. Pattni was eliminated in 12th place, earning $26,128.

Nicco Maag

Barry Hutter opened the preflop action with a raise to 60,000. Nicco Maag called all in for his last 47,000. Then Kenneth Gregersen called 60,000 from the big blind. Gregersen and Hutter both checked the {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop, then checked again on the {10-Clubs} turn and the {q-Clubs} river. Gergersen won the pot with his pocket fours, and Nicco Maag was eliminated in 10th place. He'll earn $26,128.

Zucchet Gets A Double From Hutter

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Zucchet
Michael Zucchet

Hand #32: Barry Hutter opened to 65,000 from the button and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #33: Matthias Bednarek opened the pot with a raise to which Kenneth Gregersen moved all in for 580,000. Action folded back to Bednarek and he folded as well.

Hand #34: From under the gun Bednarek opened to 60,000. Action folded then to Barry Hutter who reraised to 160,000. Action folded to Michael Zucchet in the small blind who reraised all in for 480,000. Hutter thought briefly before making the call.

Hutter: {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Zucchet: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

Zucchet was way ahead and he stayed ahead on the {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. He maintained his lead on the {j-Clubs} turn and he was able to dodge a nine on the {a-Hearts} river. That allowed him to double up through Hutter.

Kenneth Gregersen

Hand #39: Michael Zucchet opened with a raise to 75,000. Action folded to Kenneth Gregersen who moved all in for 675,000. When action folded back around to Zucchet who opened folded his {A-}{Q-}. Gregersen showed his {J-}{J-} as he scooped in the pot.

Hand #40: Gregersen opened the pot with a raise to 75,000. From the small blind, Barry Hutter announced that he was all in. Bazeley folded his big, but Gregersen called quickly all in for his 835,000 chips.

Gregersen: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Hutter: {K-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Gregersen got an extreme sweat when the board came down {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn was no help to Hutter and it kept Gregersen in the lead, but the {k-Diamonds} was just the card Hutter was looking for on the river. With that, he was able to scoop the entire huge pot and all of Gregersen's chips as Gregersen was sent to the payout desk to collect his winnings.

Joseph Wertz Eliminated in 8th Place ($44,032), Jacob Bazeley Eliminated in 7th Place ($58,147)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Joseph Wertz

Hand #42: Joseph Wertz moved all in from under the gun for 310,000. He was called by Barry Hutter from the cutoff. In the next seat over Jacob Bazeley reraised all in for 410,000 over the top. In the small blind, Jason Bigelow moved all in for 1,090,000. Action folded back around to Barry Hutter who folded, bringing the three remaining players to a showdown.

Wertz: {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Bazeley: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Bigelow: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The flop came down {4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs} giving a little piece to everyone. A pair of jacks for Wertz, and a backdoor flush draw for Bazeley, but it kept Bigelow in the lead. The turn was the {6-Clubs} which gave Bazeley one of the clubs he was looking for. Fortunately for Bigelow, the river was the blank {4-Hearts}, allowing him to eliminate both players. Since Bazeley finished with more chips, he earned the higher of the two payout spots.
