De Meulder Runs Into Trips, Busts

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

We found Matthias De Meulder all in with {q-}{q-} on a flop of {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Unfortunately for him, his opponent held {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for trip kings. De Meulder didn't improve on the last two cards, and his tournament is over.

Mattias Andersson Not Screaming (Yet)

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

If you've watched the 2004 World Series of Poker episodes on ESPN than you'll sure remember Mattias Andersson. He was the one guy screaming his lungs out after every all in he won. Don't remember? Check this video to refresh your mind:

(the hand starts about 6:20 in)

Anyway, Andersson is playing today and he's up to about 11,000 in chips. He just won a pot where he bit 1,150 on {5-Spades}{A-Clubs}{9-Spades} | {J-Spades} | {10-Clubs}. His opponent check-folded and Anderson quietly raked in the chips. Quietly yeah, no screaming yet.

Barny Boatman Does Not Go Back to Back

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante
Barny Boatman after he won his bracelet
Barny Boatman after he won his bracelet

Barny Boatman received his bracelet in the last break, but we didn't seem wearing it. For now, he won't receive one for his other wrist neither as he has just been eliminated.

The player under the gun raised it up to 450, and from the big blind Barny Boatman called all in for 275 total. Boatman had called blind with {2-Spades}{4-Spades} but was up against {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} to make things worse. The {3-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} | {J-Clubs} | {10-Spades} board didn't help Boatman and he left the table.

Chartier Busts One

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

We're not exactly sure what we missed, but we're pretty sure Samuel Chartier just had a player pre flop all in with {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} which was the best hand. His opponent, who appeared to be all in for 3,150, had {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. The board wouldn't help either and Chartier added some chips to his stack: {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} | {7-Spades} | {3-Clubs}.

Xuan Liu Eliminated

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

We missed the precise pre flop action but we did witness Xuan Liu just getting knocked out. She was involved in a big three way pre flop all in. From the button she had all her chips in het middle with {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} while the small blind tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. The big blind had {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} so Liu had all the black cards and queens going for her.

Besides the small and big blind the rest of the table seemed optimistic Liu would hit. She wouldn't. On the turn she had all the clubs as outs but the river would turn out to be a blank: {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} | {8-Clubs} | {8-Hearts}. One of the blinds was short with 4,125 but the other had Liu covered so she exited the tournament area.

Busquet Low, Cunningham and Williams Arrive

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

We found Allen Cunningham and David Williams squirreled away in the back corner of the Silver section. Meanwhile, Olivier Busquet appears to be having a rough time of it at a nearby table, as he's down to about a quarter of the starting stack.
