The Grand Finale

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Whenever the steady din of riffling chips and table talk is punctuated by a collective "Whoa!," we try to find out what all the excitement was about. On a recent hand, the ruckus was generated by your standard one-outer on the river.

Zack Sanders saw two players get it all in in front of him, and with {A-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} in the hole he was more than ready to do the same. One opponent held the {A-Hearts}{K-}, while the other tabled {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} to put Sanders in a dominant position.

Flop: {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Of course, domination can end with the simple spread of three board cards across the felt, and Sanders was now drawing to a single out in the deck: the case ace. The turn came {4-Spades} to put Sanders on the brink of elimination.

River: {A-Spades}

On this Fourth of July we had some fireworks a little early, and Sanders could finally exhale after binking the perfect card on the river. The opponent with big slick was eliminated, while the player holding jacks was left with just a single chip to work with. At least he has a chair though, right?
