The Master Beats His Student

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

David Peters is part of the vast stable of pros that are sponsored by Phil Ivey's yet-to-be launched site, but that did not stop Ivey taking some chips from his student!

Peters opened to 500 in late position, the small blind called and Ivey called in the big blind. The dealer fanned out the {10-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop, a flop that the blinds checked to Peters on. Peters led for 600, the small blind folded, Ivey moved all in for 1,400 in total and Peters called.

Peters: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Ivey: {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Ivey had flopped flush and was essentially a lock to win the hand. The {3-Spades} turn meant Ivey could not lose, rendering the {A-Diamonds} river useless.
