The Shark Folds

Level 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Humberto Brenes checks the {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Spades} flop to his sole opponent on the button. That gentleman checks behind and the dealer put out the {10-Spades} as turn. Brenes made it 1,700 and got a quick call. The river brought out the {9-Hearts} and Brenes opted to check. The player on the button made it 2,200 and after a couple of seconds, Brenes made the lay-down.

1,100 Players Left

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

From the 3,713 who started this morning at 11:00 a.m., 1,100 are still in the field right now. And that's of course just 1A, 1B is still fully happening in the Amazon Room and Pavilion Room. Here in Brasilia the average stack is a little more than 15,000.

Duckworth versus Cody

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

In a small blind, big blind confrontation we just saw Tim Duckworth betting a 1,000 on {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} from the small blind. Jake Cody made the call from the big blind and the dealer put out the {4-Clubs} as the turn. Duckworth now bet out 1,300 and again Cody made the call. The river completed the board with the {K-Spades} and Duckworth checked. Cody shoved allin for about 5,600 and put all the pressure on Duckworth who had a little less than that left behind. Duckworth ultimately folded and Cody went stacking.

Wade Gets Creative

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

We aarived on the flop as Tristan Wade had just checked from the small blind. On the table it was {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Wade was faced with a 800 bet from the player under-the-gun plus one. Wade made it 2,200 to go and got a rather quick call. Wade bet out another 3,800 on the {9-Hearts} turn and again found a non-believer. Wade checked on the {6-Diamonds}-river and his opponent checked behind. Wade showed his {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and that was enough to take down the pot.

Tran Sighs

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

With {5-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{5-Spades} on board all the players check. Kenny Tran bets out 1,250 on the {6-Hearts} turn from the big blind and the player seated under-the-gun makes the call. A third players folds and they go heads-up to the river. The {6-Clubs} appears and Tran bets out 1,700. His next door neighbor thinks for almost a minute before folding. Tran sighs and rakes in the chips.

Jolly Julius

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

We missed the exact action and only saw Kyle Julius stacking a lot of chips. He was in the cutoff position and had his {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} still in front of him. His opponent had {6-}{7-} but at what point the chips went in the middle is unknown at this time. We did have a chance to write down the board though: {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} | {Q-Clubs} | {7-Hearts}. Julius sits on about 21,000 at the moment.
